There has been a lot of 3D movies lately and yes they are visually good, but I think that the directors and writers of these 3D movies are relying on visual effects rather than the plot and substance of a movie.
This is shown in Avatar, yes Avatar is visually stunning, but the story is simple and obvious. There is nothing in Avatar that we have not seen before, it is a classic case of style over substance.
I hope other writers and directors see that the new medium of 3D cinema is an enhancement for a movie, not a movie in in its own right.
