Alice in Wonderland short review
April 3rd 2010 11:56
When I sat down to watch Alice in Wonderland, I didn’t have great expectations. What with all of the reviews going around on youtube and on TV. But when I was watching it I found myself immersed in the world of Wonderland. I went to see it in 3D and having seen Avatar in 3D, Alice in Wonderland couldn’t compete with the quality of it. This may be because it was not filmed as a 3D film but converted afterwards. This somewhat spoiled it for me as when I was watching it I kept on watching the bad 3D effects rather than the film itself.
The character I was most looking forward to seeing was of course the Mad hatter, this was played as I’m sure everyone knows was Jonny Depp. His character was has had much scrutiny around it as he was the biggest actor in the film. Even though he didn’t have the main part, when I was in the cinema I could tell that the audience enjoyed his character the most. His character was a very unique one as he had two characters as whenever got angry his eyes turned red and from his quite placed, subtle Scotish accent to, a gruff, harsh accent. This worked well as it gave him almost two characters to play, and being the actor that he is it was a delight to watch.
